SUN Senior Systems Support Technician (Markham ) in Toronto, Ontario

We are seeking, on behalf of our client, a hard working, dynamic and charismatic Senior Systems Support Technician to provide SUN Hardware and Software maintenance support. This individual must be self-motivated and have the poise and confidence to support a wide variety of corporate accounts. Effective written and verbal communication is essential to be successful in this role. This position will service clients in the GTA and surrounding area. Qualifications Eligible candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of extensive background in use and knowledge of SUN Microsystems Hardware & Software. The position will require knowledge of SUN Microsystems from workstations to Enterprise servers. Experience in supporting Cisco switches and HP hardware, is a definite asset but not a requirement. However the willingness of the Candidate to obtain Cisco and HP certifications is important. Drivers licence and car is required. Certifications Desired: -Solaris System Administration Certification for Solaris 7, 8, 9, 10 -Analytical Troubleshooting (ATS) Job Description: -Analysis, problem determination, repair and problem resolution within contractual obligations of the customer base either on-site or remotely through other field engineers/technicians. -Schedule and conduct field audits of customer platforms; prepare and present to customer representatives findings and recommendations... -Provide technical sales and marketing assistance in support of marketing/sales organization. -Attend trade shows, conventions, seminars, and other venues as directed to enhance own professional knowledge, to develop business contacts and to promote client products and services. -Keep current on events in the industry and related technologies; evaluate emerging changes for impact on our client and share findings with our clients management and technical staff. -Providing technical liaison for sales to ensure shared understanding of technical and delivery requirements -Responding to requests for quotes and other information requests.
