This Grip is a great addition to your Canon 7D. The grip has two functions, the first being the ability to use two LP-E6 batteries to double your battery life or you can use the included six AA battery holder to operate the camera with normal AA batteries. This can come in very handy when you're unable to recharge your LP-E6 batteries and need to keep using your camera.
The other function of this grip is ease of use when shooting in portrait orientation and better handling of your camera. The grip adds 4 extra function buttons, a dial as well as a secondary shutter release button for vertical shots. A tripod socket and hand strap bar are also built into the bottom of the grip.
